CoE Research Clusters
The Network’s activities are anchored on its host Centre of Excellence which has eight multidisciplinary research clusters. These clusters carry out knowledge co-production in research, advocacy and capacity building programmes. The clusters are multidisciplinary in nature and work with a broad spectrum of stakeholders across policy making, public service, business, civil society, women and community groups for impact.
Urbanization and Population Dynamics Cluster
This project works around issues relating to resilient cities, city development policy, environmental changes in cities amongst others. This project is led by Prof. Leke Oduwaye.

Housing and Regeneration Cluster
This cluster researches towards housing regeneration and housing market analysis. Led by Prof. Nubi, a Housing, Urban Regeneration and Urban Sustainability expert.
He is the founder and Director of the University of Lagos Centre for Housing and Sustainable Development. He is a prolific speaker, writer and believer in the sustainable city, has led research on the various ramifications of housing finance and urban regeneration in Nigeria and West Africa and has been published in such high Impact Factor Journals as Environment and Urbanization, and Housing Finance International (the journal for the global union of housing finance) as well as International Journal of Law and Management.

Land Management and Administration Cluster
This cluster focuses on Land rights, geospatial information system, land markets and accessibility and land valuation and taxation.
Professor Omirin has laid the foundation for research for many graduate students and has produced several doctoral candidates through her thorough attention to detail and purposeful mentorship. She has led research in city-wide facility management using incentivized strategies in the management of bio-degradable waste, the investment performance of informal properties in two African Countries, and infrastructure provision and urban justice. She has managed grants in these areas as well.

Sustainable Urban Design and Infrastructure Cluster
This cluster researches on issues relating to sustainable buildings/housing, sustainable communities and sustainable infrastructure.
Led by a dynamic Architect with a compelling architectural design portfolio across private, public, and pro-poor housing development, an expert in sustainable housing and the use of bio-mimicry technology in housing construction and management; Professor Adebamowo has a strong profile in research into thermal health and urban liveability in Africa. He has focused on climate change and its mitigating and adaptive measures in the tropics.

Urban health and livability cluster
This cluster is centered on environmental evaluation and quality of living and urban health policy and planning.
She has carried out case studies to evaluate the Millenium Development Goals in informal settlements in Lagos, has studied the adoption of green technologies in Lagos, and sought to create opportunities for the urban poor in their communities through her research; which has been published in such journals as Social Space Scientific Journal, The Ethiopian Journal of Environmental Studies and Management and AVANI Journal of Geography.
